Sounds like the power from the brake light circut is back feeding the headlight circut. Its also possible that one of the rear brake light bulbs are popped. If the filament in the rear bulb is lying across the parking light then every time you hit the brake it will power up the rest of the parking light circut.
I\'d suggest doing a full light check. Have someone operate the lights while you look at each one.

could it come from the 3rd brake light also.

Possible but I doubt it.
The power goes from the fuse box to the brake light switch. After the switch, it Y\'s off. One wire goes to the 3rd brake light and the other goes to the turn signal switch. According to weather the turn signal is on or not it will send either \"brake light constant power or signal flashing power to each of the rear brake lights. The front turn signals operate off thier own connectors in the same turn signal switch. Thats why I doubt its a front porblem either.

I understand what Space is saying, but the parking lights are a different circuit than the headlights and don\'t cross until you get to the light switch in the dash. That is where the parking lights and the headlights work together. So I think that would mean you would need to have two shorts. Does this have trailer lights?

NO It does no. but looking at it now i remembered i took the relay off for the hazord light because i broke the switch but someone said it goes to the blinkers too. would that relay be the problem.

I have switched them and have not had a problem. Did you do anything with the steering column wiring? There are four connectors on the column. Two are for the lights. Two are for the ignition and turn signals. There is another connector for the brake light switch that has 6 contacts on it.
