500 is pretty low.. try bumping the idle up to about 750 / 800... check your floats.. and check your needle and seat.. there might be some crap floating around in yer fuel bowls. Take out the sight plugs / bolts on the side of the float bowls... no gas should come out (make sure your on level ground) now push down on the fender and make the suspension bounce.. gas should dribble out.. if it doesnt.. yer floats are too low, if u pull that bolt out and gas POURS out they are set too high which is probably giving you the rough idle, your bolws are overfilling (either from going up hill / downhill) and causing it to spurt out of the vent and into the venturi\'s. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif
how do i bring up the idel? do i do it when i have it running after a while? do i turn the screw in or out?
how do i adjust the floats

Ok, that don\'t matter, just brand. You\'ll need a wrench, I think 9/16 and a large, flat screw driver. There\'s a nut and a screw on the top of your bowls, one on front and back. Take out the sight plug, and with it running loosen the nut on top of the bowl just a touch. Too much will allow gas to spray out. You raise the float level by turning the screw. I belive counter clockwise to raise it.
The nut is like a locking nut to keep everythihng tight. Turn the screw just a little bit at a time. If you raise it too much, it will spill out the sight hole, and the gas will be too high. You\'ll have to run the motor to use up that gas, and then pretty much start over.
Do the same for the rear bowl. Hope this explains it enough to help you out.
i hope it works i can try to do it tonite. if it dont then im goin to take it to a carb shop.
thank you for your help
