ignition problems

Ok guys and gals, help me out with this one. I have an 86 GMC S15 truck with a stock 84 350. It has a stock 4-barrel Edelbrock carb, HEI ignition with a high output Mallory coil. Everything about the engine is stock. I keep burning up ignition modules. Does anyone have any idea why that would be happening? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Check the ground wires. There should be a ground clip that connects the hei plug to the cap on the body of the coil.

I have seen them missing and burn up mod\'s.

also with the ignition off. check with a test light to see if you have power to the ignition. if its powered up when the key is off you will smoke the module quite often.
