just raced a 71 camaro

so im comin home from work and im sittin at the stoplight to get on the interstate. this 71 camaro pulls up next to me. i looked over and gunned it at him. he gunned it back. that went on for about 15 seconds till the light turned green. the light dropped and we both gassed it. took it down the ramp and about another 3.8 of a mile down the interstate. headed down the ramp i had a good 3 car lengths on him. got actually onto the highway and hit 4th. i ran it up to high 4th and stopped. he was only about a half a car length behind me through all of 4th gear. i backed off it wen i was gonna hit 5th. theres no point at all racin in overdrive. so, point being made i hit the brakes and let him go by me.



man i dont friggin believe i just did that.

I have an occasional stop light run-in now and then. But I rarely take it beyond 80 MPH or so. In most cases, if you continued, they\'d chase you until they ran out of gas....

Here\'s my last story i encountered on the street. A FORD lightning truck got beside me at a light late last saturday nite. He rolled down the window and asked for it. So after lookin around for any other cars-and there were none, here we go. Went to second gear at 5500 rpm. went to 5000 in second and looked back. he was about 10 lengths back. I let off and proceded on my way. Nothin feels better than killin one at the light. Especially when it is that brand. Thought about all you proud owners of the s trucks. SMILED ALL THE WAY HOME.

the last redlight encounter i had was about 3 weeks ago. to make long story short, a mid 80s mustang showed me some tail lights and turbo smoke. I figure it happens to the best of em.

I also think that when racing on the street, and you tap the brakes, the race is over. I also do not mind losing to someone faster/richer, since most race vehicles are works in progress...
