I duno guys.I just picked up a bed the other day for $ 125 with a new tailgate. Not bad.Anyway my truck needs a little of body work and needs to be painted.Do you think it is worth doing it my self with all the bullchit of doing it myself.I have a friend that can do bodywork but my garadge sucks. It is alwasy cold and I would have to cover EVERYTHING.I could just send it to a bodyshop when I just have the cab on the frame that way they could get everything.I got it downt ot he frame again.Anyway another question should I do all the bodywork with the motor/trans out or with it in?I figured with ti all out.AM I wrong?

If your not comfortable doing it yourself then have someone else do it. My truck also needs alot of work. i bought a complete parts truck with a good cab and box for $300 and paid my brother (who does body work for a living) $700 to paint the complete thing. We\'re gonna jam it all when its all apart and do the inside of the cab, firewall...shit like that. Then hang all the panals and spray the whole truck. If you have no heat i would wait till the summer time to do the work yourself, being cold you\'ll end up with runs and fisheyes all over the thing. Taking it to a professinal is the best way to have a straight pretty truck, but body shops charge way to much money in my opinion. Just wait till it warms up and have your buddy do it for you. Oh...i plan on leaving my motor and trans in. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

so I should build my motor and trans now and later on do the paint?

thats what i would do, id wait till the summer to paint it. By that time you\'ll have the motor ready to go and then all you have to do is paint it.
