View Full Version : Rollpan Install Help Needed
I got an APC fiberglass rollpan for my 94 Jimmy. During the test fit it appears the frame ends will have to be trimmed. Is this typical for rollpan installs on Jimmys/Blazers? Also, where do I bolt it up at? It appears I can use the frame ends for each end but what about the middle? Any help is appreciated. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

Unfortunately I didn\'t take any pictures of the roll pan install, but I will see if i can explain it to ya. The way my body guy did it... was figure out where it has to be in order to line up the body lines....drill 1 hole on each end, through the roll pan and through the bed, put a long bolt through each hole and secure it with a nut. From here it will roll forward and back because its only secured on the ends... depending on how close it is to the end of the bed... find sumthing to shim it, whether you have wood, rubber... anything.. shim it the best you can so your body lines still line up and you can still open your tailgate, drill a hole and secure it in the middle.. the rest is ALL fiberglass.. he left NO bolts in mine.. glass the ends, and then glass part that is touching the end of the bed.. once its all hardened you can take out the 2 bolts on the ends, and then take out the middle bolt that is secured into the rear of the bed. The rest is all sanding and smoothing... my truck is in storage so I can\'t take any pictures for you.. I HOPE this made sense.. if not I will see if i can dig up any pictures.. becuz I did take pics of the truck at the body shop... there are a few on my website.. you can check it and see if you can get a glimpse at the roll pan.

Yes you have to trim the back of the frame to put a roll pan on a blazer.
