Welcome. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

Good luck on the 302 swap. I don\'t think it would be at all possible in a 2wd. THe oil fitler is located where the steering box is - I think. The manifolds would work great and I don\'t think the would hit anything. There shape would also allow easy fabrication of a nice dual exhaust system.

If anything It might fit into a 4wd chassis that is first converted into 2wd. With out the f-diff or the crossmemeber of the 2wd, I think it might be able to be jocked around enough to make it fit.

If you try it, I sure would like to see pics! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

I have done numerous v8 swaps. I tried a olds 350 in a s10 but it just won\'t fit- into a 2wd.

Ididn\'t think about trying the 4wd to 2wd conversion that might have worked but too late, too gone now!

Space.

IF IT HAS TO BE DONE ,TRY REMOTE OIL FILTER OR NOTCHING THE FRONT FRAME

RAILS OR INSTALL RACK&PINION STEERING.

JUST A COUPLE THOUGHTS OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD.EVERYONE HERE KNOWS THAT ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. WELCOME AND GOOD LUCK!! JAMES-

Ive seen a few of them done, although I cant tell you anything about them because I wasnt there when it was swapped in.

But it is possible. Probably need to build your own headers, or just use manifolds.

even though I somewhat agree with racer1182, I like things different. I have always wanted to do a sbc mustang or maybe a sbc ranger. Just something different.

Even though many see FORD as the enemy, This site is s10v8.com and nowhere do I see it say \"chevy\", niether in the web adress or the name headline banner.

I think the sbf questions are more to this sites overall topic - v8 in an s10. Than some of the questions asked about the faimlys sedan or thier rice burner gets poor fuel mileage.

Not trying to get everyone all fired up, but the topic is ... v8 in an s10. So i would say if we could help OUR fellow member, COOL!

When I did my first v8 swap their were no manuals, help lines or computers to check the web for info. Just wing it in and make it fit. If it weren\'t those would \"dare to be differnant\" than none of us would have thought about doing the conversion by ourselves. We had to get the urge somewhere.

Just my 2 cents.

gotta agree with space...... but on the oil filter, remote filter conversion? some of my friends had to do that for a v8 exploder.....

i saw a 455 olds powered mustang on traderonline recently for sale. i think it was 2 grand or so. and there is a fairly well known cadillac powered one as well. i am all about the frankenstein rods. why else is anyone here?

yeah I\'m gettin ready to do a 500 caddy in my 76 4x4 pickup cause it has 3.08 gears and 33 in tires...the old 350 does good but need more power.

hey guys (and gals ?)its me again, unkpat.

well the deed is almost done the motor is in.

I had to use factory shorty headers off a late model mustang. The next big issue is the clutch fork linkage. did i forget to mention it is a 4-speed ? i will soon upload some pics for those interested. To Racer, Space cadet thanks for the comments. I never intended to make this a ford vs chevy issue. Later
