there are specific made loops. just for your application. i dont know if any one makes one for an s10 but the universal models work good too. you just need to drill the hole and all your self but they come with instructions as well. you want it closer to the front. keeps the shaft from dropping down in the front and flipping you truck. i will look to see if i have a pic but i dont think i do.

My friend got one for his Syclone (well, two, actually) that was specifically made for it, but I haven\'t gotten under there to make sure it\'d fit mine before I ordered it. I\'m not sure where he got his from - I think he learned about them on SyTy.net.

Ill try to get some pics. I used the universal one, and it works fine. Looks like shit, but whos looking? It is also a tight fit with the driveshaft, but you could fix that also.

Mine is a universal. Here are a couple of pictures of it and a picture I scanned from NHRA rule book.

NHRA has strictest rules. If it passes thiers it will pass anyones. Must have a retainer loop 360 degrees of enclosure, 1/4 inch minimum thickness and 2 inches wide or 7/8 inch x .065 inch wall welded steel tubing securely mounted and located within 6 inches of the the front u-joint. Strait out of NHRA rule book.

A universal one fits fine right in the floorpan notch for the driveshaft.

I have the same setup as Grimpuppy. It is required if you run slicks.
