I would say that you could get atleast $1500 for the motor if it is brand new rebuild. Also are you sure that it is a small journal if it is a 69 cause the only one that is made in 69 would be a large journal. the last year for the small journal is 67. hope this may help you some

Hey Buckethead, Is the motor you ran the 7:23 with? What motor was that?

If it is large journal the value increases a little bit. This is because it will be the same as a 350 block. So you can go all the way up to a 383 with it at any time. If it is a small journal you are pretty much stuck with 327 unless you have a custom crank made. Even then you still have the weaker small journals. Sounds like a nice motor but honestly there isn\'t a big market for small journal 327\'s. Numbers matching refers to the a series of the vin number of the vehicle matching the numbers on the block. So your motor would actually be a correct date coded motor but not numbers matching. Correct date code means everything on the motor has a 69 build date. There is only one vehicle that the numbers match up to for that motor. $1500 sounds right and a little more if it is a large journal.

it all depends on if the right person wants it at the right time. my 327 was over 2600 for the short block. but i traded a complete 383 kit and 4 bolt main block for it. but it was fresh out of the machine shop and they are the best in this area.

ok, the guy i got the motor from told me that it came out of a numbers matching corvette, said it was the small journal and what not and i bought it from him and had most of the work done to the heads myself, i put it together and now need to sell it, so i wasnt 100% sure if it were the lg or sm jrnl crank. i ran the 7.23 with a motor from Robert England\'s shop down in nc. It was a sb 400. i reckon ima ask 1200 for it seeing as how i got it for 600 im hoping at least to gain at least that back
