Well I blew my motor up yesterday. snapped a head off a valve and destroyed one cylinder. I am not that upset about the bottom end but the valve guide boss has a pretty big chunk taken off of it. It also has the rest of the valve in it. I was wondering if I could have a machine shop weld the spot where the piece is missing and put a new valve guide in. These heads have been discontinued so I cant buy a replacement.

I would think as long as it didn\'t take too much off I would just have a new guide put in it and run it but you would have to egt your machine shop\'s opinion on that. I s there anyway you can take a pic of it and put it on here so we can see it?.

most common reason for valves breaking off is head to piston interference because of valve timing off or valve springs to weak and floating valves

I dont think that would be too much of a problem but I would like it for you to get your opinion of your machinist. I would run it my self but I\'ll let you have it check but it doesn\'t look all that bad in the pic.
