after 2 years of waiting, i have finally gotten my engine back together, and successfully installed in my truck. i\'m still working the bugs out, and i can\'t drive it yet, but i did get to start it last night and set the timing. i have a lot of little things to do, and 3 pretty major things, and i\'ll be able to drive it. i will try to have a video on here soon. when i started it out at lunch time, all the people from the neighboring businesses came out to see what it was, i don\'t have exhaust pipes or mufflers on it right now, so its just straight headers, and awfully loud. sounds freakin awesome though!! haven\'t gotten the idle set yet, i\'m kind of concerned that i\'m going to have to drill the throttle blades or something to get it to idle, i haven\'t gotten it to idle under about 1300-1500 yet, the cam is 248/254 @ .050, on a 108 lobe sep, .615/.622 lift after .020 lash. 10.85:1 compression, sounds badass, doesn\'t like to idle! but, i have confidence, i\'ll get it there. all the guys in the shop next door must have rich daddy\'s, cause they are always driving brand new dodge trucks with flowmasters, or nissan 350z\'s, or some brand new sports car of the foreign variety. ever since i started working here a year ago, i have always wanted to start up my american made, sweat and blood paid for, beat up, rusty ol\' v8s10! it makes their new dodge trucks with flowmasters sound like a vaccuum cleaner or something! ha! so cool. ok, well, i\'ll try to get that video on here asap. by the way, is it hard to put a video on here? i\'ve never tried before, any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. ok, lata, brick.

oh yeah, i forgot to say it before, the guys who work under me are import guys, and young, and they are always telling me, \"hey, i know this honda civic that will kick your trucks @$$!,\" and i always say, well, i guess we\'ll see, they didn\'t say that too much after they heard it run! ha! i think they just haven\'t seen anything fast before. freakin imports, what kind of retard, when given the ability, would choose to build a 1.8 liter motor, when they could build a 5.7 liter motor for the same price or cheaper? it just doesn\'t make good sense! oh well, each to his own i guess, if they want to build a tiny motor and boost and/or nitrous it to the moon, then that is their right i guess. brick.

Nice. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif Makes it all worthwhile, doesn\'t it.
And regarding the civics, if you can find one that is a match for you, just lure him into a situation where he\'s gotta launch hard and bust his CV joints.... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

Congratulations. Show them import boys what its all about! With that cam duration and LSA of 108 if you get it to idle at 1000 you\'ll be doing OK. Must sound pretty nasty.

man zr1, you\'re really committed to getting that thing running, in the gravel??! that sucks. i don\'t think i could get my wife to help me. she\'s never even heard it run yet! but as soon as i do, we\'re going on a date in it!! even if i have to drag her kicking and screaming. last night i got it to idle at about 900rpm for a while, but then i lost it........just started dying again. more later. brick.
