i couldn\'t find how to just pm this to you, so i thought this way, i gtalked to the guy in grand bay about narrowing the rear like we talked, and it would be about 150 roughly, he does not do axles though, but he can narrow, and weld back together, he has also narrowed several chassis and all

i will have to get by there, and get his number, when i asked the other day i was in kinda a rush, yes, he can weld the end back on there, and probably put your pads on and that stuff, if ya know where ya need them, i have seen a truck that he backhalfed for a guy, and a blazer he did, both looked real good, the truck though, he did do the tubs, just the frame work only, not bed, the bed the owner of the truck tried to do, and it looked like shit, lol

Just a word of caution though, a lot of guys do rears without using a jig, which is usually a large diameter shaft that goes thru the whole rear. Then the pros use machined spacers at the two carrier bearings, and at each axle bearing.

......... Then you know the rear is true. Although a \"pro\" built my rear a long time ago, I\'ve been seeing \"bad camber\" tire wear, and now I\'m wondering..... if they used a jig.

at this point in time im leaning towards the 8.8. been trying to get by a wrecking yard and measure one for myself compared to my blazer to see what the exact differences are. scotty your a racer, not just a street beater, do you think the 31 splines will hold if spooled with the c clip eliminators. right now with slapper bars and a peg legging posi im pulling 1.62-1.65 60s. I think the posi giving out is whats kept me from breaking the 28 splines up to this point, but i refuse to push my luck any longer.

I think you need to put out an SOS to Mzoomora, he\'s a \"third member\" guru. Hmmm, that doesn\'t sound quite right either..... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

Rayl--- i THINK that a four by four rear is a bit wider than a regular s 10 rear. If it is - an 8.8 would be a good pick My 8.8 bolted right in---but i had it narrowed to s 10 rear width. If you were closer i got an 8.8 factory posi rear-373. also got the posi out of the one i put in my truck.

how much did it have to be narrowed? ive read the width isnt much different and can be made up with offset wheels??
