just tighten til you feel the pushrod get a little tension, while twisting the pushrod and then half a turn..
This is a hydraulic cam right?
if it is that is how to set it

If you\'re doing it with the engine running, (the safest way for a novice) just back off until it ticks, tighten until the tick stops, and then another 1/2 turn, or full turn, depending on your needs. I\'d say a full turn would be good for a totally stock engine, or one with a cam that you didn\'t plan on pushing to the limit. The racier the cam the looser it is usually set. Problem with the loose 1/4 or 1/2 turn settings, is that it\'s a lot more likely to tick while running.
........ A word of caution, if you mistakenly set a valve too tight, and the valve hangs open, it could damage the valve.
