I have to cut it quite a bit to get it to fit. Just wondering if theres a difference in year models. Mines a 93.

In order for it to fit you have to at least cut out part of the upper section of the radiator support opening, you will also need to cut a hole for radiator cap access, this is all explained in great detail in the S10V8 conversion manual sold in the store, reffered to as the bible, it has a wealth of information about converting your S truck or blazer to V8 power... It also says to cut out a section of the bottom but I was able to get my vette radiator in without doing that, I have rubber mounts at the bottom and an aluminum plate rivited to the upper chanel of the core that bolts to the original three bolt holes in the upper rad support... I know this works with the 82 to 93 S series but I don't know about years after that... So far I have not had a problem with it, just a bunch of fun driving my truck and staying under 185 degrees... :icon_biggrin:

mine is a 91--should be the same--there is like a false bottom in the core support-- I had to cut it out for my vette rad to fit--it drops the rad down about 1/2 inch

I believe the radiator needs to be an '87 +/-.
Others may fit, but I think the '87 is the one that's recommended, and the one I used in the forward position.

My truck is a 1999 and even with cutting the core support down to only one layer at the top and bottom I still hade to notch the lower panel to allow my rubber mounts to sit flush at the bottom.

The bottom is cut flush with the shroud support and the top was cut with a plasma cutter, if I remember right I cut right at an inch off the top. Watch the heat or you'll burn the paint off the top of the support, I did. Then I planned on painting it anyway.

I cut the top support from frame to frame for my radiator.

Good fit! But how much has to be cut in order to be able to open the cap?

They should be the same just different radiators for the motor size.I cut 32" out of my support but when I get mine tomorrow I'm gone to put a support back to make it stiffer then stock with 1/4" x 2" alum. strip that I have.

1/4" x 2" alum. strip will work to hold the radiator in place in the forward position.

Better yet, what rad hoses do you use? I tried stock 4.3 hoses and the coolant neck on the motor is far too big for that hose?
