That's a good looking truck. And the install looks good too. Congrats!
I see you have one pic, the fuel pump blockoff pic, loaded and tied to your "camera" icon. Why don't you load a couple other pix there? Or, are you waiting on that?

Looks good man. Great looking motor in there.... howbout some specs on it? My only suggestion would be to go for a solid axle swap and play with the big boys http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif you've got the power to turn some mud slingers now

Nothin major, it's just the 5.7 TBI crate motor from summit.. TB spacer, underdrive pulleys, electric fans, headers, true duals, no cat's, 40's with turn downs.. I wasn't really expecting it to have as much power as it does with the 3.42's and 31's, but i'm really happy with it..
Yeah, one day i'd like to see it sittin on 35's, but that's in the distant future.. Maybe i'll go carb'd and stick a blower on it too.. haha

Why? Why not have one at the head and one at the block?

Well, for starters if it was the best place to have them they would have put them there from the factory. And they might be a little too sensitive in the head, the ECM needs to have the knock sensor where it's designed to be.

I thought there was one in the head on my 4.3.. I'm not for positive about it being in the head, but i'm sure that one was high an one was low on on the engine.. I thought the high one was in the head..

I've gone through the forum and seen a few posts from mzoomora that say he had a knock sensor in the head on his 4.3 also..

I was not aware that they had sensors in the head. But if they did, then I quess that's where they should be. Are you running the ECM from the donor vehicle that the throttle body v-8 cam from? Just put them where ever they where at on the original v8 setup from the donor vehicle.

I didn't have a donor vehicle.. haha.. My morot is a bran new crate motor from GM, so i put everything where it was on the 4.3. I didn't have anything else to look at. I still have all the 4.3 computer stuff as of right now, i am talking to Brian at tbichips.com to see about a v8 chip to put in..

the motor mount was in the way for me. what you can do is plug off the passenger side coolant hole. lengthen the wire and put the knock sensor in the drivers side coolant hole. then take the coolant sensor and relocate it to the cylinder head. mid 90s 4.3's used 2 knock sensors. but they both tee into the same grey wire. it wont hurt nothin to run one.
