got this from someone else.. BLACK AND CHROME
He sits in his dragster, surrounded by black and chrome,
As if he were in his lazy chair, cuddled up at home.
He flips a couple switches, as the motor roars,
He readies himself for yet another pass in the fours!
He flips down his visor, and tugs at his gloves,
Losing is not an option, he’s doing what he loves.
His loving wife says good luck, be safe, and I love you,
He looks into her eyes and knows what he has to do!
He believes in his heart that he is the best,
Not only good, but better than all the rest!
He has to believe in himself you see,
Or he may never see another victory.
He rolls through the water and lights up the tire.
Smoke fills the air as if billowing from a fire.
He comes to a stop about 100 feet out,
Car looks great, motor sounds stout!
He backs up readying himself for the run
It’s time to perform, talk is cheap, talk is done!
He rolls in slow and lights the first light,
Visor comes down and he concentrates with all his might.
Roll in seven more inches, now he’s staged,
Ready to pounce like an animal caged.
He’s off the button, foots to the floor,
Car pushes you back, 3 g’s or more!
About 60 feet out the car shifts into high gear
Right about now is no time for fear.
You will never see him coming until it’s too late
His nose in front of you, sealing your fate.
He will catch you at the end of the track
Blurp it twice and never look back.
It’s at this point you will realize that you will fail,
As you look at his win light on the guard rail.
Double oh on the tree, took you through by one
According to the ticket, your day is done.
Now you will come to realize he is the best
And you are just like all the rest!
