12.50s 1/4 mile for $2000 total

Okay, here's the bet i made with a friend: Buy a s-10 2 door 2wd blazer, drop in a V8, some light spray and run 12.50s. This is not the first V8 Blazer i have built, I had a mild cammed 350 w/ hedmans, th350 w/ stage 3 shift kit and B&M Torkmaster 3000 stall a few years ago. And currently, my brother has a 4 door that's bagged w/ a V8 (soon to have a bigger cam, 2800 stall for the 700R4, and 3" 44 series Flows).



Here's the low down on the build so far.

1983 Chevy Blazer - $300

TH350 w/ B&M TM 3k stall - free

Zex Nitrous Kit - 100 hp sot - free

running 350 - $200

3" drop springs for the front - free

2.5" Flowmaster 40 series - $70



What i need help with

Headers - i would like to buy some used, that are in decent shape. i have $50-60 burning a hole in my pocket, someone help me spend it.

Carb - something in the 650 cfm range. again, budget minded.

You should have no trouble hitting your goal... 12.50's are not difficult to obtain, especially on the spray. If I took away appearance, suspension, interior, and other un-neccessary mods I have less than $2000 in my truck's drivetrain and motor and the original purchase of the truck and it will pass 12.50's N/A as soon as i get it tuned.



Hell, why don't you up the wager and make him cry when you hit 11's on a 200 shot. The motor will take it as long as it's tuned properly. I think it was car craft that hit a junkyard stock 350 with a 400-500shot and it lived.

this setup is only going to be done until we get my brother's GF's 4wd 93 4Door GMC (live axle front swap and 10" of lift w/ 36s) done and this motor will go in that truck.

i am thinking a 550-600 hp single turbo LS1 w/ a 4L80e bagged on 20s as a highway killer as the next motor build. heeheehee
