last time i posted on here i was swapping my 2000 t/a's running gear into my 2000 s10. well, my t/a was stolen a few months ago. so i guess im starting from scratch. what i cant decide on is BBC, SBC, induction, etc. and how many links should i use on the rear? right now its on a 5/6 drop on 20's which i plan to keep it that way. also traction, other than a standard 4link coilover which i have 1/2 installed into the truck, just waiting to finish the instal when i get another axel; i want to be able to put the truck into a controlled power slide w/o the excessive wheel hop that i get now. any help appreciated thanx.

ps- this is a stupid poll, as this site would be biased; but ive been asking everywhere i post, so here it is... BBC fbody (probably an 82 firebird) for competition (used to have a 468 79 camaro running 9.60's and miss it dearly) OR v8 s10 primarliy for simple pleasure with the capability to hold its own on the track-under 12.00 (which i also used to have a 95 ext cab with a 305 turbo'd running 11.30's and it was almost as fun as my 98 R1)

ive posted similar polls and advice requests on several sites, and so far the tally is upto:

s10:ta of 8:5

BBC s10:SBC s10 of 2:3

forced induction:n/a of 6:5

roots blower:turbo of 3:2

atm im leaning towards the s10 with a sbc while i build the suspension up to handle the 454 ive got in storage awaiting bore expansion, and keeping it n/a, and posably a roots style blower once im happy with the engine thats in it. but i have someone with a roots+carb combo for a sb, that wants to trade for my 454... so if any1 here has attempted a bbc swap and discourages it for a street and pleasure vehicle, please specify why..

thanks again.

one more thing... about the traction bit, after talking to a few guys that professionally build s10s, and a few elcamino drifters and draggers, they say if i extend my primary link bars as far foreward as posable, that i would get the desired outcome im looking for, so now my question becomes: how many side supporting links do i need to keep the axle from shooting out from under the truck in a power slide? ive been thinking 2 on each side front and back... overkill or neccessary?
