I plan on putting the Taurus fan in my 95 s10. Will a stock alternator work with this fan and not give any problems? I plan on having it set up so that the low speed will always be on and when it gets hot, the high speed kicks on. I want to make sure that at idle if high kicks on that I will have no problems with the extra load.

Robert, I have been working on a set-up for the Taurus fan. The 95 S10 you have has the v8 in already or the 4.3 or smaller? If you are using the 105 amp altenator from the 95 dime, then no problem. Which Taurus fan are you using, the 3.8 or the 3.0? Have you bought anything for a harness yet for the fan install? The high speed will drag down the altenator a little since it pulls about 30-40 amps once running. I put in a 3.0 Taurus fan on my 94 4.3 S10 Blazer. Have the low to kick on with the A/C and the high to kick in with an adjustable temp probe in the radiator. If you have an idle of 700 or higher on the v8 install and the 105 amp altenator, no problem. The 4.3 that idles at 550, if the IAC don't increase the engine speed with the a/c or any load then the altenator will look like the fan is running from the battery. The best advice is to wire with relays and straight from the battery. Use a circuit breaker and not a fuse. You don't want a fuse to pop and have no cooling. If you need help, please write me back or PM.

This my Taurus fan install on my 94 S10 Blazer. It has the 3.0 liter fan from a 94-95 Taurus or Sable. The Blazer is the old body style. I can sell a kit completely wired for $120 shipped. The kit lays out as I have in the pictures. If you would like different locations, I can make one for the same price. The Kits are for S10 and S10 Blazer. The kit includes Everything needed to wire your Taurus two speed fan. The set-up shown is low for A/C and high for temp. The kits works for both the 3.0 and 3.8 liter fans. The wire used is exterior automotive grade wire rated for 250+ degrees and under the hood temps and chemicals.

The truck had the 2.2 in it. I have pulled it out and I am getting ready to put the 350 in it. I have not purchased the fan yet, I wanted to do a little research before purchasing anything for it. I have a serpentine setup off a 93 truck with the stock alternator on it. I will be using the AC on the truck. I will also be using the vette radiator in the stock position.

The serpentine set up would be like in the pics on my 94 4.3 liter. The stock alternator is 105 amp. Putting the radiator in the forward position adds clearance for the v8. The other thing that helps is moving the engine and trans back. A suggestion would be to test fit with the engine and trans in all the way back and place the radiator and fan in place. If the install allows, move the engine forward to allow the acceptable clearance needed. Once a position is found find the best place for the cross member. The cross member can be modified and rebolted where needed. If the drive shaft is too long, have it cut down or find one with the proper length.

The fan kit is to help those that don't understand how to wire and make it safe. Hope this helps http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif
