i went from a single roller timing chain to a double roller now the hormonic balancer is out to far. that with the stock balancer on a 307. im going to buy a new one what should i look for befor buying?

You need the really thin one from the 327. It's the same crank as the 307.
One other thing, if you go with the thin balancer, you'll need the short water pump that came with the 327 or your pulleys won't line up.

just call summit . they got me one for my 1966 283 in my s10 it had a thin one like bigjoe said.and they sent me one that looks like the ones on a 350 they know what they are doing .[

If the balancer won't fit the lower gear is not seated correctly. No balancer will fit. The balancers are not double or single chain specific.

HILRODi is correct. if it fit before, it should fit after. I would agree that it may not be fully seated. The gear should seat agains the crank snout, and the balancer should seat on the gear. Go back and double check.
