Does anyone want to talk about Mechnical Injection and E-85? I run both and I am on the brink of 9's with my 406 small block. All naturaly aspirated.

406

TH400 w/ Brake

TCI 8" converter

4.88 gear

Best time

10.21 @ 128.9

1.38 60'

6.4 1/8 @ 105.9

I think in good air I can get into the high 9's.

What compression you running? Cam details and anything else you are willing to give. I want to change over to E85. Still looking for the right combo. I have 13.5:1 compression. Half the people I talk to say It's OK the other half say It's to much. Anything you want to enlighten us on about E85, I will sure listen.

I am running a hat injection on a Victor ram. Brodix 11x heads, .730 lift roller 308/312 duration 274/284 .50. 12.5:1 compression. When you get your fuel curve correct on E85 it is worth .3 off your E.T. You can really feel the power down low, it gives up a bit on the top end, I am working on putting in a leanout system for the high end of the track, my plugs read pig rich but these systems are know for that on the big end.

13.5:1 Is about as high as I would push E-85, should be ok with a large duration cam with alot of overlap. I have had no detonation problems to date with my setup, I have run it in 3 engine combo's with equal or better times than 110 race gas.

What fuel pump you running? Do you need an alky pump for the E-85?

No you don't need an alky pump for E-85. Treat it like gasoline. I run a cam driven setup for injection 80 - 100PSI, not your typical setup. I've run E-85 w/ a holley black and Aeromotive SS pump when carb'ed.

Are there any Drag Racers out there that have a question? I have a wealth of time tested knowledge on drag racing and building high horsepower small blocks. I have built quite a few combo's for street to all out drag. My current setup is a 406, about 630hp (10.21 1/4 @ 129mph) 3000lbs. I have tried quite a few different setups in the truck but have this one dialed in as much as it will go. I'm hoping for a 9.90 run this spring in cold air with a hot motor, otherwise I just want to go rounds a turn on the win light and have some fun running down big blocks.
