Ok the other day it is nice out and I want to go for a drive. So I go out to start it up and it turns over and turns over and it wont start. Getting 11.58 volts to the cap, but no spark coming out. This is the second time this has happened. Last time I replaced the pick up coil and all was well. This was 7mo ago and less than 1000 miles. I am getting fed up with this stupid HEI. Any suggestions? Is anyone running the msd 8360?

Sounds like the module is bad. I've also seen the ground wire on the top of the coil brake also.
Space.

This isn't all that good. I presume that's NOT with the engine cranking. If so, it'll drop even lower with the engine cranking, and this is NOT good. But if it's 11.5 with the engne cranking, you'd expect spark.
............ Why don't you try an experiment, and run a piece of scrap wire directly from battery (+) to the distrutor and see what happens?

Checked the ground it is ok. I ran a wire directly from the battery and still no spark. When I took it to have it dyno'd I had them install the msd module. I was having this problem before and called them and that is when they told me it was the pickup coil. So i replaced it now it doesn't work again. Dunno think that I am going to switch dizzys.

ive got a msd billet distr. and i love it. plus the small cap external coil frees up alot of room back there.
