need to know what kind of cam...........if it is not much bigger than stock I would reccommend a performer over an rpm air gap

Performer RPM.

You may make a little more torque with a performer if the cam is small, but if won't be more than 5-10 lbs. With a 4.10 gear you won't notice it anyway, and if you upgrade the motor later, you can reuse the RPM intake.

I was always led to believe that the air gap overcools the fuel and theres a much greater chance of the fuel falling out of suspension.

I wouldn't bet the farm on that one! Even if I read it in a book. The regular performer rpm intake is a fine intake as well. But they built the air gap for a reason. Granted, they both have their place.

If what you said is true, I better get rid of my big ole single plane! My fuel is falling out of the air! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

I've read numerous articles about the RPM Air-Gap intakes and none mentions the air charge being too cold and I thought a cooler air charge was a good thing?

Yes, a cooler charge is a good thing. I have read from more than a few placees about people having issues with the fuel falling out of suspension. All of these have been from TBI guys though.

Regarding the fuel "falling out of suspension".....

I've said this before more than once here...... I'm thinking that the Air Gap intake might NOT be a good idea for a street engine that sees a lot of cold weather use.

........... In the winter, a cold, brrr-cold carb & intake can't be good for street use.

But you could always simply light a Sterno pot just under the carb..... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif
