i have put a 71 corvette sb into a 91 s10
the vette pan sump is a hair shy of hitting the crossmember and most likely will with the motor twist
i need something that will work with a drivers side dipstick relief the sump measures like 11 inches long and my motors all the way back already
i have a pan that has like a 8" long sump and it would work if it had drivers side relief anyone know what year would work?????

I just went through the same problem, I got this from jegs part # 710-19510, I had to dent the two front corners to leave a 1/4" space all the way around, clearence also depends on your motor mounts too, mine are custom and the motor sits low in the engine bay, but this pan worked well for me.
go to www.moroso.com they have all the dimensions of all their pans, that should help you too.

yeah ive already um "modified" the 71 vette pan bout an inch ive got about a 1/8 of an inch in the middle but i dont know how much i can dent it on the corners i dont want a holy pan. and ive had to tilt the sump collector up bout a 1/4 will that hurt anything?!
never realy heard of denting the crossmember will it effect the alignment or strength? otherwise i'll pull out the 20 pounder and get to work http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

I never had to dent the pan nor tilt the sump pickup either... I don't think denting the cross member effected the alignment in any way either, you should only need to pound on the trailing edge area of the cross member, it's a very tough area to get to move even a little bit with a sledge, you also have to be very careful not to hit the brake line that runs across at the edge if you miss... It really depends on what pan you have, what motor mounts and if it is pushed back as far as you can get it for the pan to clear the frame on the front corners of the sump... I used TransDapt mounts and they mount the engine a bit higher than the ones sold in the store on this site (I think) and that is also a factor... Another thing that helps is raising the tail of the transmission with a spacer, this is something you may have to look at also... Good luck http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

Disconnect the brake line while massaging the crossmember. I heated the crossmember in the spot i needed to adjust and used a 5 lb sledge, worked fine plenty of room now.

Installed a 94 LT1 (from Cop Car) and had a little contact with the cross member. Here's a picture of mine (http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t4/auroradan/S15%20V8/PICT1981.jpg) after an hour with a rosebud tip and a 5# ball peen "Frame Massager". Probably pounded more than needed, but no harm dome, just more room.

Canton makes a really nice 8 qrt pan, has a crank scraper and widage tray installed already, fits perfect with the conversion mounts and looks like it would fit good with just about any mount. I payed $240 Canadian with the pick up tube part#can16-100
