HEy al, Well, the last couple of post from me has been about my broken push rod, and when I pulled the intake all I found was about 3'' of it, so the rest of it is in the bottom of the oil pan. Anyways, the motor is coming out this weekend, and I am going to be taking it to the machine shop to be check over and rebuilt, new bearings, rings, etc. It is a 383 stroker with 6'' rods, steel crank and 462 heads. (2.02/1.60) It has a baby cam in it right now, about 260 duration, .488 lift. I am using 1.6 rockers also. My question is whats the biggest lift cam I can go with without going to a roller setup? I already have a 3000 rpm stall that will be going in when I reinstall the motor. I am trying to get the MOST BANG FOR MY BUCK so to speak. anybody have a similar setup on the motor or can tell me what cam to go with to make the most power with what I have? ALLWAYS, thanks for the advice everyone!

If you trust your machince shop guy I would ask him. I believe you will need a small base circle cam for that motor. Those are some loooong rods for that motor.

Ask you machine shop about this cam or something like it. I would have the valve lift capable of .550 or more of lift to use the 1.6 ratio rockers.
