Unfortunately, Nope. The 2.8 V6 is a 60 degree motor, and the GM smallblocks are 90 degree. The 4.3 V6 is also a 90 degree. That trans will only fit some of the 4 bangers as well as the 60 degree family 2.8, 3.1, 3.4.
On the other hand, the bellhousing could probably be swapped to make work. Not sure how close the rest of the S-10 T5 is to the Camaro T5 other than the bellhousing.
And finally, If I recall correctly, the T5's were rated to 250lb.ft. of torque.

If you install the v8 bell on it, it will bolt up. The shifter hole would have to be changed as the t5 is a top load shifter tranny and not a side case bolt on. Otherwise It will work. HOWEVER... I would NOT recomend it!!!
The t5 is a very weak tranny. If it were going to be driven to work and back with absoultley no hard duty only for the legnth of time it took to have a saginaw, muncie or a t10 shipped, I would not even think about it.
It won't handle any abuse that could be given to a camaro.

Just thought I would mention a couple other problems with using an S10 T5 in a Camaro, first of all is the gearing, S10 T5's are geared for a truck pulling heavy loads with a small engine, first gear is about 4.03:1 in most and would be useless in a Camaro unless you change rear gears, the Camaro V6 T5's range from about 3.50:1 (1984) or 3.75:1 (93) to as much as 3.97:1 for first gear and V8 versions use 2.95:1, that last one is what a Camaro should have for optimum performance with a V8... The other problem is shifter location, the S10 T5 shifter hole is at the front of the tail shaft housing and T5's used in Camaros have the shifter hole at the rear of the tail shaft housing so the shifter would come up under the dash with the S10 T5, the tail housing, shift rod, forks and top cover assembly can be swapped between the two types of T5's but it's not worth it if the gearing is inappropriate... The only thing S10 T5's are good for is other S10's and early trucks where the shifter location and gearing works, a lot of people are converting there old classic trucks and Jeep's to the T5 for the overdrive...
A World Class T5 out of a 90's Camaro would be a better choice, they have a 26 spline input shaft and use a heavier clutch plate than the earlier non W/C T5's, the bell housing needed to mount it on a 90 degree engine also would need to have the Ford bolt pattern for the W/C T5 transmission, unlike the early S10 T5's...
I'm pretty sure this is all accurate, correct me if I'm wrong... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif I put T5's and 60 degree V6's in MGB's... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

The T5 is a 5 speed manual trans, not an auto. If you're talking about an auto that was mated to your 2.8, then it's the 700R4 which has a fixed bellhousing and has no way of working on a 350. On top of that, they're not very strong either.
