I have a 92 E150 van 4.9L 6cyl. I drove it to work monday and when I got off it would not start. I have checked it and have spark and I have fuel pressure to the fuel rail at the injectors. I hooked up a code reader but when I went to scan it said the computer was not responding. I tried this 3 or 4 times same responce. it just cranks but will not start. I was thinking the computer gave out. any thoughts? I need to get it going as It is my daily driver right now while my I am rebuilding my s10.

thats what it sounds like to me is that the computer took a dump. If you have fuel and spark then thats where I would look is the computer. hope this may help.

I would suggest to check the fuel pressure. If the injectors are correctly spraying fuel and you have correct spark then the chance of the comp being bad is unlikely.

I don't know if the injectors are spraying just that there is pressure at the fuel rail. I checked at the port that is like a tire valve when I pushed it and turned the key on fuel squirted out quickly. Thanks for the responces Keep ideas coming.

Check your fusible link to the computer. I have an 89 bronco, that happened to me with the same symptoms as yours. Also check for voltage at various sensors. If there's no power, nothing will work.

would there be spark to the plugs if the comp didn't have power?
