Ok, anyone who saw 'my' post in the tranny section might know this, but I'll go over it again anyway. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

I've got my BF doing a restoration / modification on an early 90's S-10 which belonged to my dad. We've more or less worked out what we're going to do with the power / drive train, and I've been wracking my brain on what to do with the look in terms of paint and interiors.

I'm looking for some suggestions on some "old school" paint jobs for S-10's which would still be aesthetically pleasing to a "whipper-snapper" like me. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

I'm thinking of using a dark, black cherry shade of red as the base color, debating on using silver or black also.

thanx!

Fading the front in silver, the middle in the black cherry and the black on the very back. I would think could look very sharp. The key is though the fading. The fade would have to be wide and smooth to pull if off flawlessly.

I paint, however I am not that good to pull it off.

Thats my 2 cents.

This could be a touchy subject. depends on your taste. I love old school flames. but my truck flames are more of a mixture of teal and forrest green with a malteese cross in the middle of the hood. the next one will be all rat rodded.

Thanks... You got me really thinkin about painting!!! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_mad.gif http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

Pearl silver base, Black Cherry translucant top coat. Then several coats of clear. THen... more clear coat. The last couple coats lightly tinted with the black cherry. . Blocked smooth between every coat. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

Maybe some work to accomplish but ... You could almost reach your hand into the paint it should have sooo much depth. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

By the way Slimer, I agree!!!! Depends on your taste.
