I heard this last night and again this morning on our local news station in West Palm Beach Florida, they are saying that $4.00 a gallon may be the good old days and that it may triple in price to $12 or $15 a gallon before long, so get ready... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif High demand and a new finding that our fuel supplies are dwindling faster than first thought is part of what's driving the price up, a new record high for a barrel of crude oil is $135+ and production is down while demand is climbing even at the present price per gallon... I must say the future looks very bad http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_frown.gif Everything is going to be going up, food, electricity, paints, you name it... Think about it, what if this really happens, what would you do? I think I'm going to be junking a few cars and build me an electric, hydrogen or maybe a steam car...

I have to say that blows chunks. Whats gas in Canada now guys?

Ya really have to think about it, we do love us some petroleum products. We will however come up with other was BESIDES ETHANOL...that's just killing our corn fields and going backwards as far as energy. They also said on (MSNBC) that another factor in the higher gas prices is foreign nations having crisis. I believe that to be complete bull-honkey.

Well anyway just chewin' the fat here, as the common workin' man we're hosed. But maybe the almighty democrats can change the world. (sarcasm).

Business thrive off of supply and demand. Like X-mas time when the tikle-me-elmos The company didn't make alot so the price went up. And they made a fortune. Same with the oil companys. The oil companys just want to try and make out like the farmers. If a farmer has a bad crop year than the Gov't pays them a fee for not growning anything. Any company that can get paid for doing nothing is going to keep doing that.

As far as I seem to see it, its been years and years since theoil companys have built refinerys. So it's been years and years of profits and profits and more profits. The profits seem to have gone to stingy CEO's that collect millions.

Henry Ford built his cars in the 20's and 30's with the idea that "Anyone could own a car" So he made many, price went down wages went up and he sold cars to "eveyday Joe's" whom had a decent job to pay for it.

Maybe I'm a little off the rocker on this one. When I got my drivers license gas was .99 gallon. So for every penny it goes up just makes me feel taken advantge of penny by penny. My truck had cost $15.00 to fill. Now it cost $60.00!!! THe oil companys should have at least given a reach around before sticking in our !^##'$ !!

All pissed off and makin' no sense!!!http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_mad.gif

If you want someone to blame... look at the enviromentalist groups.

There has not been a new refinery built in over 30 years. The last was built in either 1975 or 1976, I can't remember which.

We can't drill for oil in Alaska, we can't drill for oil off shore. The majority of our oil comes from Canada and Mexico.

You can blame both of the above on the enviromentalist groups. Also look to state governments that requires special fuel blends for their state.

It's easy to blame the oil companies, but how many companies would be happy with only a 7.9% profit margin? The dollar amounts are huge, but when you look at the profit margin... it ain't much. Most companies I know of are not happy until they are making at least a 30% profit margin.

Ask youself how much profit the government makes on taxing oil? And then ask yourself what do they do to earn that money?

406shark hit it on the HEAD!!!! Not only that but Congress just defeted a bill to mine oil shale in Colorado. IF they only converted 10% of the shale, it would have made more oil than all the known oil reserves. Wow, the power of lobbist, and money.

Note to President Bush: Since your a lame duck anyway, and we have a standing army in the middle east, hold it hostage, blackmail with nukes, or whatever, and get us some CHEAP oil. Your daddy did it, and you can too. PLEASE??!!

In the paper yesterday

"the major 5 oil companies (Shell, BP, Exon Amaco, another one) combined posted a 36 Billion BILLION dollar profit within the first 3 months of this year..."

Thats a little over 7 billion dollars....Billions I say,not thousands, not millions not hundreds of millions but BILLIONS. A measley 7 billion dollars cleared profit...all theirs...profit. yeesh.

It's just a fact that during wartime fuel prices are higher-- and the big boys use that to inflate it even more--- The saudis basically told BUSH to go home and cry in his beer. they have us by the balls and know it--the wallstreet traders are getting rich by bidding so high on future fuel prices because they know what is going on. most of the world hates America. china is at peace --so is India-- and they are buying oil at a record pace for many years to come in advance. all of these factors will eventually choke this country to death, as we are seeing now. Oh, that tiny rebate check you just got or will get soon!!!!! that came from a loan from china--we are basically broke-- BLEAK but true.

Its time to say $#@! the animal huggers we have to save our country! We need to set a date say july 1st for example. We tap our resereves for 1 year solid no exceptions. I gurantee that all the oil companies will come back begging for us to buy there oil at much more affordable price

i sure hope that $15/gal thing is bs. EVERYONE will convert to electric cars or something if that happens, there's no way anyone can pay that. i pay at least $50/wk driving a Pontiac Grand Am across town to work and back!

will somebody PLEASE drill alaska!

Gas up here is about 5 bucks a gallon, 30% of our gas price is tax. They are taxing the tax. The oil industry is very big here with the tar sand up north, the word is anything over 40 or 50 bucks a barrel is all profit, kinda have to scratch your head when the oil companys are making record profits the last few years. pretty sad when you guys are buying are oil, shipping it down there and still can sell it for less. That retard you guys call a president has pretty much turned the entire planet upside down! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/wtf.gif

one thing i will say.....as long as people just complain about the prices, then go out and fill up cuz they need to drive their cars 5 miles to work and back, nothing will get better. More people need to do what many in my little city are doing. Instead of bitching about it and then buying more of it, i said screw it, i cant afford this crap, and am now riding my bike around town back n forth. There really isnt any reason to HAVE to drive a car a measely few miles to the store, to work, to the restaraunt, etc. It comes down to people being for the most part lazy. refusing to walk, ride a bike, excercise in general. Why do you think America is so fat??

Anyway, yes i know gas prices suck, and if the DO get to $15 a gallon, ill just laugh harder while i pass them on my 10 speed while the guy who lives two miles from work complains cuz he cant afford to drive to work and home.

I'm paying $1.40 per LITRE for premium in Ontario, which is still only 91 Octance at most pumps around here. We export the dang fuel and pay more for it here.... wtf????

my profession is directly linked to the oil field and refinery industries, make no mistake boys, they are drilling new wells and capping them all over the US, notice i said capping them!!! refinery production is at a all time low for the past ten years, and they are about to break ground on a new redinery in south dakota... tree huggers are catching alot of the blame for this mess, but only share a small part of the blame
some of you may disagree with me here, but most of this is a result of the USA'S next economic bubble, "renewable energy" or " global warming" if you will, some thing you cant usher in, with out causing fear of running out of oil, 75% of all my product going out the door right now is all for crude oil based production,25% is for ethanol, so if we are are nearing the end of oil reserves, why the hell am i so busy? more importantly, why are the oil industries still spending so much money on it, i have sent two new projects to the north slope of alaska in the last two months, and have another leaving the end of next week, oil is flowing from most of the state in alsaka (with eception to ANWR)

look at the whole E85 push being made by the goverment, i have a E85 compatable vehicle, its suppose to be good for the enviroment, its suppose to be a cheap alternative to gas, yet to harvest enough corn to make a gallon of E85, it takes a gallon of diesel to do it,doesnt make a whole lot of sense, and why is the goverment paying farmers not to farm it?? this both effects gas prices and food prices

There are alot of very powerful people and/or companies who stand to make alot from this renewable energy push going on right now, in my eyes, this is nothing more than manipulation of the people of this country and its economy to condition us for whats coming

oil, like anything else, can only bare so much of a price increase, before it has to subside, but it will never subside to 2,3, or even 4 dollars a gallon after the climb it will make in the next two years, time to trade the hot rods in for motorcycles boys, our hobby will become to unaffordable for most folks to bare

sorry for the rant
