can i do the v8 swap on it this truck has the 2.2 motor in it ..i know it canbe done but im not shure on this one .i can use all the info i can thanks timmy

You can do the conversion on any S10, any color, any year.

Timmy, as you may have noticed, you can get TONS of info here. But the best place to start is to buy the "conversion manual" book available right here on this page. The book has been in print for at least 20 years, and updated as needed, and has like, 200 or so pages. A ton of information too.

yep any color, although the older red ones are the easiest.
the newer black ones are the toughest.

thanks for the tip ..i was doing the swap on a 91 but i gut rid of the rotbox i have everything well not everything but most of the parts to get one going the motor is about 80% done tranny/rims/ tires /the only thing i need is the body and driveshaft and its done .ill keep you guys updated.

no you cant do it on the stepsides. best thing to do is sell me that worthless step side truck and go get you a regular s10!!

Well I would say yes the stepside box is hard to come by but not impossible to come by one with one or find a good box in a junkyard. I have always like the look of a stepside. I got a 95 S10 that had a reg box on it that I got from a Junkyard and looked on car-parts.com for a stepside box turn out that sister yard to the junkyard I got my truck from had a stepside for $1400 but got it for $600. Good thing it was the same color as my truck.

Well if u get the truck u shouldn't have no trouble doing a V8 in it. Just get the 2.8 motor mounts from this site and Shorty exhaust hedders and u should be good to go.
