The gen 2 evap box is a little different than the gen 1. You can go to a boneyard and get the box and evap. You can use all the other parts as long as they all seal up.

Jake, the a/c core you are talking about, would it be the condenser? The answer is yes and no. Let me get started by saying the popular radiator used in the forward position is a vette radiator. The vette radiator is smaller in width and allows it to be pushed forward with less work. If I under stand the question right, you want to leave the condenser in place and move the radiator forward. There is a gap there, put not enough to make the entire transition. Most of us move the condenser to the front, outside the radiator core support.

You can use the entire 4.3 serpentine set up for you v8. The compressor also can be used. Just use the a/c lines from another truck the had a 4.3 in it. You can use the dryer form the same donor truck. The condensers on the 2nd gen trucks are a little thinner than the older ones.

I suggest throwing away nothing until the truck runs and the ac works. I throw stufff away then find that I needed them.

An access hole was cut for mine. Also I have an LT1 and the lines have to be longer, because the compressor is underneath the engine. The stock lines from a 4.3 S10 or Blazer or GMC equal will work. You want to stay close to the same year when using parts. There are slight differences with angles on the dryer connection. This makes things easier. Go to the junk yard and look for your donor. Remember, you are only moving the condenser 2" forward the stock lines will work.
