97 4.3 vortec. how to make faster

I have a 97 s-10 that i bought from a friend after i totaled my 83 that i built with a 355 and wrecked to to lack of braking power. I paid 1500 for the new truck and it needed a new fuel pump. It has flowmaster exhaust, aluminum swirl theottle body spacer, k&n air filter and has the computer has been programmed with a hypertech power programmer, lowering kit and 18in wheels. It has 184,000 miles on it and its only a matter of time before the motor goes in it. I am in love with this truck and dont want to get rid of it. I want it to go low 12's one day and not really sure of what i would have to do to do that. I have a shopping cart on summit which includes a comp cams cem kit, underdrive pulleys, pistons, a jet performance programmer, and an edelbrock intake. Im not really sure if this would be enough to get me to what i want to do. If someone had done this before please give me some hints or tips to getting in the 12's. ANY help..websites,products,people,motors, anything would be a great help. Thanks

Probably a bunch of nitrous is most likely to get you there. This guy on one of the other boards got his truck in the 12s with spray. Seems like most of the guys who use the Prochargers get into the 13s.

alright. nitrous is an ootion but i dont really like it. its goin to be a street driven truck too so i kinda want the motor to last. If i go procharger then im goin to upgrade internals too get the most out of that powerful little v6.

swap to the 4.3 marine intake. they have individual injectors. upgrade the intank pump and throw a single T70 turbo on it. you will blow past the 12s at 12-15psi and still be just as streetable as you are now. make sure you call Cam motion for a good custom turbo cam.

The turbo is a good idea and it will quiet up that noisy muffler of yours.
