Welcome to the site. Sure, a lot of guys here have BBC conversions. In fact, someone recently asked about a similar arrangement. The swap is certainly not as easy as a SBC, and it adds a substantial more amount of weight to the nose, and headers can be a problem. But doable? Yes.
......... Maybe some of those BBC guys will check in and give their 2 cents worth...

Welcome aboard! Lots of good info on this site for engine swaps. There are also some BBC S10 on this site. My Uncle did a Blown (671) BBC s10 a few years ago, and I've also seen them at the track.
Some of the things my Uncle did are:
Custom headers, not many companies out that make them for BBC S10
Had to modify the firewall and tranny tunnel, mainly because of the blower, and he set the engine slightly back.
He notched and boxed in the front cross member for oil pan clearance, and he wanted the engine to set low in the truck.
He removed the steering box and installed a rack & pinion, because of steering issues. But, I don't think you have to do this, because I've seen trucks that kept the steering box.
Modify drive shaft (shorten).
Added new Coil over shocks, much more weight than a small block. That BBC made the front end touch the bump stops on the lower A arms.
Hope this helps!
