This is a very common question.
The mount system is pretty simple.
There are 3 conversion mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/index.php/cPath/22) available.
Most common mount is the 2wd conversion mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/products_id/55).
They run $41.95 for the pair, and can be purchased at the S10V8.com Parts Store Click Here (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/33)
http://www.s10v8.com/store/images/S10_V82WDM.jpg (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/products_id/55)
The 2wd conversion mount (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/products_id/55) works with all 2wd s10/s15/sonoma trucks/blazers, regardless of the year and regardless of what engine was originally in the truck.
The 2wd conversion mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/products_id/55) bolt to the 2.8 frame mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/products_id/32), so if your truck came with a 2.8 v6 then you are good to go with these mounts, although it is recommended that you replace your 2.8 frame mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/products_id/32) with some new ones since the ones in your truck are likely original and worn out.
For 4wd s10 trucks/blazers
There are the 4wd s10 conversion mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/34).
The 4wd s10 conversion mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/34) run $54.95 for the pair and can be purchased at the S10V8.com parts store (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/34).
These mounts work like the 2wd mounts but are made for the 4wd trucks.
They are different and if your truck was a 4wd and you eliminated the front differential you will still need to use the 4wd conversion mounts.
These mounts like the 2wd mounts also bolt to the 2.8 frame mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/32), so if your truck came with the 2.8 v6 then these mounts are ready to use, although it is recommended that you replace your 2.8 frame mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/products_id/32) with some new ones since the ones in your truck are likely original and worn out.
The 3rd and newest s10 conversion mount is for the LS1/LS6/LSx conversion.
The LS1 s10 conversion mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/35) run $59.95 for the pair and can be purchased at the S10V8.com parts store.
http://www.s10v8.com/store/images/LS1S10.jpg (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/35)
These mounts work like the other 2 mounts mentioned above however they are made specifically for the newer GENIII or LS style engines, LS1, LS6 etc..
These mounts also work with the 2.8 frame mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/32).
So what do I do if I do not have the 2.8 frame mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/32) in my truck?
That's easy, you buy them and install them in your truck.
They are $28.00 for the pair and can be purchased in the S10V8.com parts store. (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/32)
http://www.s10v8.com/store/images/S10_28M.jpg (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/32)
Your truck will have the holes for these mounts and can be bolted on, no welding required.
So regardless of what engine your truck originally had one of the mounts above will work for your truck as long as you either already have the 2.8 frame mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/32) in your truck or you install the 2.8 frame mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/32) in your truck.
Will the 4.3 mounts work on the v8?
Good question. Yes and NO!
Sure they will physically bolt up but they will set the engine higher in the engine bay and the 4.3 mounts are quite a bit weaker then the 2.8 frame mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/32). To put it another way, do not use the 4.3 mounts with your V8 unless you want to break engine mounts and deal with clearance issues.
The 4.3 mounts are rubber bonded to steel, and tear easily with the torque of a V8, the 2.8 frame mounts (http://www.s10v8.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/22/products_id/32) are clam style mounts (rubber is surrounded by steel) similar to what the 84-91 Chevrolet Corvette used.
