It's ready to go I hope. Boy was it a job to clean out all the corrosion from the water/soft drink. I had to pull the carb 3 times and reclean it. I blew and washed it out many times and I think I finally got it. Fired it up and it feels good. Tomorrow night after I have to go to open house at the school where my daughter is going (to meet the teacher) I am going to test and tune. I've got to try this new jetting on the n20 and leaner tune up on the carb. I've also got a different 1/2 worn out set of slicks on that I've never tested so this should be FUN. I hope my numbers are not too far off, because I have too many new changes. Too many variables since I had a decent run. I don't like variables!!
I'll let ya'll know how it does. We've got a Grudge Wars at Fayetteville this Saturday and I've got to defend her honor. I've already got some call outs, it would be a shame to do a no-show.

Heck, I've been wanting to put a nice aluminum bed cover on it anyway. That would give it a finished off look and I could cut it out for my roll cage rear bars.

Congrats. and yeah, bet you're glad that's all behind you. And you got away without spending a ton of cash, just a lot of elbow grease.
Time for some anti-personnel mines around the truck.... but not too close!;)

Made it to the track last night. Not the best it ever done, and not the worst. I think the carb is just not right. I think there may be still some kunk somewhere. Looks to me like the fuel is not going thru the venturis the way it should when gunning the throttle. And it has a little hesitation off the line. I have got more of a pump shot now by moving to another hole in the cam. I've got a full stroke minus about .015" but just cant figure this thing out. It had no effect on it with more pump shot.
Even so the truck never has had a really good 60 ft.
The best ever was a 1.51 60ft, 6.60et at 106 mph.
Last night 1st pass was on motor at 32deg. timing and 1.56 60ft. 6.92et at 99.6mph.
Second pass was on 150 shot at 32deg. timing and 1.58 60ft. 6.71et at 106 mph. It does seem to always MPH the same on spray, always 106 mph. So I guess thats good, but this thing just will not leave. And it seems to have a little trouble with the carb right now. But does not ever seem to blow the tires off but maybe it does spin a little. I really need some video of this thing.
PS: Man if I can borrow a carb from a buddy that I know works well I might see if that will help the 60ft.

Most of the ones I have seen are called a garage :p
It's to bad you can't leave anything out anymore. Mine is always locked in the trailer or the garage.
I take it you are not using a transbrake?

Nope! No transbrake. I guess that would help get me out of the hole a little better. If it didn't blow the tires off.
What kind of 60s are you doing Grim?
you have something else that is not right. No way in hell it should mph the same on motor and on the gas. You sure your converter isnt broke? something else is wrong somewhere.

Maybe I should have worded that a little different so it would not be confusing. What I meant was even when the 60ft sucks on spray and even if it has a slight hesitation from the hole it always still seems to do the same MPH at the big end.
Just seems to have good MPH to me for the ET it's running. I can't believe it will go 106mph and only 6.60-6.71 et. And I'm only picking up 2 tenths from motor to spray but gaining 6 mph. Something seems wrong to me.

Last weekend went 1.55 - 1.57 off transbrake with the 2 step at 4000. picked up about .045 with the 4.56 gears compared to the 4.10's.

Can anybody tell me how to remove the boosters from my carb and clean the nozzles? I think they may be clogged.
post all your incrementals. 60 ft 330 594 660. What kinda converter do you have? your giving up e.t in the 60.

post all your incrementals. 60 ft 330 594 660. What kinda converter do you have? your giving up e.t in the 60.I have a 8" (Use To Be TCI) converter that was repaired and restalled by Atlantic Coast Converters in Conway, SC. It is spragless, but has a topcut stator thats supposed to increase foot brake stall. And it did increase from previous 2200 to about now 3000 on the foot brake. It also has a tighter pump fin angle to give more MPH and reinforced Tig welds to the fins for spray.
Last nights time slips: I think the freakin beam was screwed up for the 330. It didn't give a reading. I know they worked on the timers for awhile last night. That must have been why.
Motor Pass
60ft.=1.567
330ft.=none
1/8th=6.925
MPH=99.12
Spray Pass
60ft.=1.585
330ft.=none
1/8th=6.711
MPH=106.23
did it spin on the spray? i would think you would be in the 1.40s on the spray if it will go 1.56 on the motor. My blazer wont 60 in the 1.50s on the motor. Maybe your onto something with the carb. If the squirters arent perfect or something.

I still think it will go 6.40's on 150 shot when you get it right. Imo :)
