I'm almost done with exterior stuff, and I've been shopping for Carpet and Headliners. I'm pretty certain that I'll be buying from LMC Truck, but I'd like to get information and opinions from others that have bought carpet or headliners.
Where did you buy from?
How would you rate shipping time and costs?
What is your opinion of the product (fit and quality)?
And, did you put any heat barrier under the Jute padding at the foot-well area?
If so, What?
The second part of this is, I bought my truck with no headliner at all, not even just the cardboard form. I have also completely removed all interior panels, trim, etc., except for the dash and A-pillars.
Is the headliner difficult to install?
How does it attach to roof?
Where did you Buy?
Product quality and fit?

I bought my carpet from Summit. It is made by Nifty Products. It was like $70 or so a couple years ago, but now is about $100. I didn't put in any heat barrier under it. It was a piece of cake to install, fit perfect and looks great. I haven't put a headliner in my S10 but I have done them in other trucks. They all had a stiff cardboard backing that the headliner glued to. Then the trim pieces holds the backing with the headliner glued to it up.

I installed the brand ARE carpet in my dime, $109 to my door off of ebay. My s-10 came with a headliner that I just recently redid. I bought very thin nylon fabric at Jo-ann fabrics and used 3M spray looks like brand new. I would get a headliner out of a truck at a junk yard and just recover it yourself. LMC or any body else are extremely expensive on headliner I have seen them 200 and up. The junk yard by me charges $20 for a headliner

Had to make a custom for mine due to the rollbar to close to the roof but installed one on a friends .He got it from LMC it fit great but was a little pricey.Attached it with the clips from the old one. On mine I used thin carpet tucked in between the double roof and went around it with a strip of plastic molding (not sure what its called but got it at lowes.Looks kinda like the strip found down the edges of some doors and has a slit in it.)it looks great and only cost about 20 bucks.

Update: I got a headliner from the bone yard, package deal with a pair of bucket seats, (2) regular visors, and (2) secondary visors plus misc small parts for $90.00.
Headliner looks pretty good(from a 91 or 93), should last a few years before needing recovered(one small sag over sunvisor), and is very clean. Seats are near perfect, with only minor (and I do mean MINOR) discoloration near bottoms from rubbing against something with a little rust on it (from early 2000's Suzuki Esteem wagon).
Carpet is on hold, as I have been out of work since June 5, when I was rear-ended by some punk ass kids wanting to race my Diesel truck...they lost...lol.....but the Insurance lawyers are really screwing me now...taking too long to settle.

I haven't done a headliner in s10 yet. But I have done one in a trans am I had. It had bows instead of cardboard backing. Sorry not really a help there.
As for the carpet if your going to use this as a dailey driver put the matting/shield under the carpet first. The exhaust heats up the floor and will want to cook you out of your truck. It doess amke a big differance.

My '67 Camaro was like that, had metal bows that slipped in pockets between the vinyl panels of the headliner.
I'm looking at a couple different options for "heat shield", but I do have Jute padding already (wife bought it for x-mas last year). I was looking at the "foil backed" stuff for the foot wells and lower firewall. My headers and exhaust are very close to that area of the floor, and it DO get toasty (bare metal now).

Same here, the Nifty carpet fits perfectly.

I used Fat Mat I got off e-bay. It's foil backed.Did the whole inside of the cab.Doubled up in certain places (firewall, trans tunnel)works real well.Helped on heat and sound greatly.
