I am picking up a Blazer next week that the owner tried to replace the window rubber in. He got the driver's side in but not the window retaining clip, so it leans forward when you roll it down. He started on the passenger side and got as far as taking the window and rubbers out before he gave up. How dificult of a job will this be? Can I do it myself or should I take it to a body shop? I want to do it myself...

I did mine without removing windows. The windows do not HAVE to be removed, and it may actually be easier to put window in first, then lube up the rubber with diluted dish soap and slide it right down into the door. Use a 1/4" thick piece of wood, and tap the rubber into the channel, starting at the top rear corner.

My windows both lean forward if I don't hold them when I roll them down, but it is because my plastic triangular slider thingys are wore-out. I need to replace the little plastic triangular slider thingys (window guides) that are snapped onto the glass edge, but have not found them yet. (haven't looked very hard either :icon_wink:)

That's what needs putting on on the driver's side and the passenger side is already out. I guess I'll just have to give it my best shot. This truck needs alot of cleaning up, tucking away, etc.

Another thing to keep an eye on is the screw holes. Make sure you can put the retaining screws (one in front, two in rear) back in before you get all the channel pushed in tight, it's easier to adjust if only a couple inches are pressed in tight.
