i need you guys to give me you opinion on something. i have a 1995 s10 extended cab. this winter i am considering goin crazy with my idea for a rat rod s10. i'm thinkin flat black with a red and white pinstripe job. for wheels i'm thinkin a set of red smoothies with the chrome center cap and beauty ring. also wanna get some chrome bumbers off a 98+ s10. for the interior i wanna go red. bench seat with red vinyl and smooth and paint everything and a set of autometer guages. the stock 4 cylinder will be goin in place of a 350 with a 4 spd. manual behind it. am i just crazy? i want your honest opinion.

I agree, go BIG or go home. I was gonna do the same, I have a 'vert cab, was gonna use that with a 5' shifter up above the windshield. Love the idea.

thanks guys. i forgot about the whitewalls and the huge chrome shifter with an 8-ball shift knob. also i kept on thinkin and im gonna lower it 3"/4". and idk what i'm doin with the tail lights yet. if i keep the stock ones i'm gonna add the blue dots.

one thing to keep in mind with the shifter. when i still had the 2.8 in my truck with teh 5 speed it had the tall stick (the factory shifter) i put a beer tap on the top of it. it would hit the HVAC controls in first gear.

well i dont know if you have yet but as the creator of the old skools social group i encourage you to join we all love the old school style and nostalgia check some of my pics an see if you like what ive done.
as far as the tailights go pickup a minitruckin magazine and some of the guys in there take tails from like a late 90's cadilac and put them in thats how im gonna go anyways.
like i say check the old skool group and see what you think we will give you some ideas most of the guys who wrote are already there

i cant say that i am a big fan of caddy lights. but i'm thinkin about some old roadster lights frenched in or even on a metal mount.

30's/40's Ford lights would look good on a "sport side" step side type bed...weld plates over the OE tail light cut outs (smooth) and mount "street rod" tail lights to the side of bed.

Another option would be to "french" some '59 caddy "bullet" tail lights...I've seen that done, and it didn't look half bad...different than my tastes...but to each their own.

yeah some guys dont im gonna french mine and get the l.e.d. style.
another one i seen was a guy took some cone style lights like a old impala and
flipped a filler panel over mounted it to those then used a clear lens of a old euro lite
and covered them ill see if i can find a pic saw it at the super chevy show at ohio
national trails.
