Are you trying to use the 2.8 700r4 behind a V8? If so, it's a no go.
There is 2 sets of holes for the transmount on the frame, but its not 8 inches differant. Driveshaft may have to be shortened, Most any machine ship or driveline shop can do it if you don't feel comfortable doing it.

Does the "tab" on the mount face forward or back? I have a 4banger with 5 speed mount and it faces back. I believe they are all the same.

I believe only one side has 2 sets of holes on the frame and there the ones that go on top of the rail the other just pivot depending on the motor mounts used you may still have to slot the crosmember /trans mount hole. Good luck

Like Chuck said, the "extra" holes are only on the drive side, and you will gain about 1.5" in the center of the mount (mount bolts are on 3" +/- centers).
If you are replacing a 2.8v6/700r4 with a v8/7004r, you should bolt the trans to the mount first, and let the motor fall where it falls (front to rear)....except for bellhousing width/pattern, both 700r4's are dimensionally identical.
If you didn't have a 700r4 behind your 2.8v6, go to the bone yard and compare your crossmember to a new/used crossmember from an automatic truck, and replace the one you have if they are different.
