Okay boys and girls here is my next new project..... I found this truck local getting ready to hit the scrap yard for 400 bucks....
Here are my plans so far
5.3
turbo 350 trans, 3500 stall
Mp T70
and some love.....
If you look below I am going to try a few things different to experiment with other mounting cooling options.
I hired the help of a skilled fabricator to help me modify the crossmember for use with a ls1 F body pan... I know most people think this will weaken the frame or is not practical but as I stated this is a experiment and we shall see.....
I am also toying with a hd 4.3 radiator with a custom built shroud that mounts Two permacool electric fans that pull over 3000cfm each and last I hardwired the factory harness to the truck as the early second gens are rather primative and I wanted to give it a shot.....

Nice job. Looks like you have two 14" fans on a 4.3 HD radiator. Interesting shroud!!!

They are the perma cool 19114 14 inch fans, they are supposed to be around 2950 cfm each... The bracket was a custom one off unit built by a very talented guy I know.

Turbo in the thread title. Can you expand on that? Good price for a decent truck. How far forward will the radiator go?

We've had a difference of opinion on some issues lately, but I certainly respect your resourcfulness<sp?> and willingness to recycle salvaged vehicles.
Mine was a $400.00 "junk yard" salvage also, and I highly recommend the option of "recycling" salvage vehicles for extensive builds such as yours and mine, to anyone contemplating a highly modified/conversion vehicle.
Whom ever did your crossmember deserves a "pat on the back", those are some NICE welds.
...That looks an awful lot like an early 70's Camaro over there in the corner all covered up...wouldn't mind seeing some pics of that either...

Hey steve, Maybe I was just having a bad day so I would like to be the first to appologize for that. The camaro in the corner is a 81, its a good buddy of mine from high school that we lost to a tragic accident a little while back. I have slowly been collecting parts to put it back to running status with a ls1 combo but am taking my time as I really want to make it right. I just got the front subframe back from the sandblaster and plan on some mock up here in the near future.
The Welder for the crossmember is a friend of mine that is extremly talented and every project he works on for me amazes me more than the last... I am going to add some pictures of what he is working on at home just for giggles, This is his 65 mustang fastback that he has made just about eveything for at this point

nice i just picked up a set of T04Es for my 89 they are good for 700+ together. i wanted to use the T70s but the A/Rs were .96 also and just to big for a twin set up. i will be starting on my headers the week after the next.
