sorry i been away for awhile now back..i don't own my s-10 any more sold it a year ago ..but planning on built some thing cray and diff..plan is take a 99 astro with a bad motor which is my ever day drive(kid haller have 4)..putting in 350 vortec did my homework found a motor all info about this ..the astro has lot more room then the s-10..just need to reprogram ecm and 4 injector wire and check the pin lay out for the injectoers .and pssble the exhaust.will be able to do this under 2000 engine rebuilt and part to convert it over.going to built.my car the i replaced the s-10 is don't get mad a twin turbo mustang 85 with a c-4 and 408w stoker .allways like the fox body mustang ..

go for it i always liked the astro's i have an awd as an everyday driver they have alot of room good towing rating probly better with a v8

Build what you need. Build what you want. If you need something to haul the faimly nothing better than doing it in sytle. V8 style. If you can't use your ride the way you need to than it makes no sense in owning it.

v8 astro vans are pretty cool, I remember the first time I ever saw one. It was like 6 years ago, I was in a parking garage in the the city up here. This thing sounded like a big block. Looked bone stock on the outside, but just had this radical idle to it which caught my attention. Go for it man thats awsome.

And you could probably fit a hot tub in the back, with a couple of blondes in it, you know what im talking about. ohhh yeahh

Go with it!! Build one EFI so it sounds a little better than that radical idle. It would keep your wife off your back. This would work to express the better FUEL ECONOMY of an EFI V8 motor in the van. You can show her the fun after it's done!
