another newb gots a question

just picked up a 92 s10 with a locked up 4.3 in it, now i have an 85 silverado, with a 305 and im not sure what trans its got, my question is, what will fit and what wont? what do i need to do this the easy way like mounts and what not? ive helped a buddy with his s10 conversion, but id like to do mine the right way. if there is any way possible id like to have a read out from start to finish of an entire swap that someone has wrote up. thanks alot!

Buy the Swap Manual (aka "The S10-V8 Bible") in the S10V8.com Store.

The "easy" way is not always "the Right way".

Also, in the S10V8.com Store, you will find "complete" kits that include motor mounts, headers, radiator and cooling fans.

There is a lot of good information, if you take the time to seach for it. You can search old posts here, with the "search" box at the top right corner of this page.

As for Transmission, I don't know what you have either, but you can use the stock S-10 Trans, from behind the 4.3, with the 305 V8, they use the same bell housing bolt pattern.

you have a good choice because you have a 4.3 truck ..you can use the trans and all the acc drive and brackets will bolt on to the v-8..most of the s-10 guys use the corvette rad and elec fans...

your swap shoud be the easiest because of the 4.3 ...just a v-8 with 2 cy cut off...

That is what makes your swap a little easier.

You'll also need the 2.8 frame mounts. There in the parts store.
