I have a newbie question? I just acquired an s10 v8 project. I have the v8 to 2.8 mounts. I am looking at about 450-500hp and am wondering if the 2.8 mounts will hold up to the power?
thanks in advance

Your best bet is stock 1982-93 2.8L V6 motor mounts to replace your 4.3 mounts, and the adapters available here, in the S10V8.com store, or TransDapt engine side mounts from Summit Racing, for the 1st Gen V8 motor.QUOTE FROM STEVO

I get all my mounts from Napa, simple OEM replacements. If new, they are by NO means the weak link in a build.

2.8 mounts are what is used. The mount has a clam shell over the top that is bolted together exactly the same as the 350 stock frame mounts. The differeance is there a little narrower.
The only time I have seen any of this design mount break was when they were welded on the edges only and not bolted in like there supposed to be. They swelled up in the middle but didn't actaully come apart.

If you have a serious concern after hearing all the posts that say they will be fine, and better than fine if brand new, use the 2.8 "clamshells" with aftermarket Polyurathane bushings in them...but be advised..if this is a street truck, you WILL get noticible engine vibration through the frame to the body.
I use stock rubber (21 years old) and they are still in good enough condition that I get a little vibration (but I built an "old skool" Hot Rod...so it's all good).
We will have another option soon in the parts store, for those who feel they need the extra strength. New mounts are being made now and will be available within a few weeks. One with polyurethane bushing and one that is a solid mount.
