These clips are one year old. I think I posted a link to this video here on our site last year.
Stroker1 posted a neat video recently and got me motivated to get this one up.
I haven't raced much at Englishtown this year, went a few times this fall, went too fast again, and this time got yelled at. No fun for me trying to go slow. And NO, there will never be a roll cage in that ol' truck. My new goal will be to put on quiet mufflers, a tic less cam, and go just as fast. And WITHOUT spray, Ray.:icon_wink:
I do drive it to and from the track, race it just as it's driven on the street, less a couple pounds of air in the MT drag radials.
Gotta say thanks to my buddy Mike who took these videos, which I was unaware of at the time. He also took videos of many, many others of many other cars as well, and he gave me a CD chock full of good stuff, and was pleasantly surprised that he caught my best ever ET & MPH runs at 11.42 and a back up run at 117.00 MPH. I parted out a couple of my clips from that CD...............

Thanks for that guys....... and yeah, I've been told a tiny bit of air under the tires from time to time...:icon_biggrin:
And as for the Civics....... yeah, that's because half the cars there on a Wednesday or Friday night ARE Civics.... :s19:
BUT, what's making me nuts is why I can't get that video link into a picture box like I see other video links.... I guess I'm missing something? It's there when I preview my message, gone when it's real-time. Anybody?
Later.............
Do you think it would work if I had posted this from the "video" Forum instead of "racing" forum??
Later Still............
WELL DUH! yes, has to be in the video forum for the "video box" to work.

very cool what kind of bars do you have on the rear? I'd say they work good.

Thanks again guys. 4more, the bars are Slide-a-Links.
And yes, it is normally very smooth...... not a very exciting run to watch for the specatators.... all 7 of them.:icon_razz:
And yes, the little truck is deceiving. And a lot more deceiving when I had the real quiet turbo mufflers. But those turbo mufflers cost me a couple tenths vs. this very loud Ultra-X-Flo muffler.

Guys, Thanks again for the + comments.
As for the rear, its a Mopar 8-3/4", w/ 3.91 gears. I had a local guy build it for me about 11 years ago. Dang, time flies! anyway, the logic of choosing that rear was that it had a pumpkin that could be removed...... in case I wasn't happy with the ratio. (seemed like a good idea at the time!) And it was a tic cheaper than a 12 bolt, and a little lighter than a 9". My intention back then was to build a 13 second street machine, so a "pro-bulletproof" rear wasn't a priority.
Until 3 years ago, I used 1960's Mopar technology for traction. That is, the use of the stock Mopar pinon snubber, and an extra leaf in the front half of the right spring, and clamped tight with a couple clamps, not traction bars at all.
I liked that setup a lot, because it added to the sleeper look..... no traction bars. That really had the guys at the track scratching their heads.:icon_biggrin: I've gone consistent 1.72 60 ft. times with that setup. Could I have gone faster without traction bars? dunno.
Like I said earlier, got Slide-a-links now. Why I switched, a really long story.
