hey guys just wondering if anyone is having the same problem? i just installed a new tci turbo 350 comp series trans and stall, broke everything just how they said to do it and on the way back from the track this weekend i picked up a rattling noise (i take it it is the hedder hit the fire wall) but there is also i bump when i let off the gas and get back in it. alomost feel like a busted motor mount but i checked all mounts and they seemed to be ok but not sure any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! new to the site thanks for the help. never drivin a vehicle with a big stall (3800) the stall wouldnt cause this would it?

a bad motor mount may not look bad just lookin at it. I would get a new set of he 2.8 frame mounts from the site here or maybe a parts store and replace them. thats what it sounds like by what you are describing.

you could just start it and leave it in park and rev on it from the carb and see if the motor is rockin , it will allow you to look at the motor and see what may be broken or bad.

It's not very likely this is your problem, but something to check:
I've broken a couple TH350 bellhousings in my truck. Once I caught it before it gave any other signs.... other than a rattle, kind of a squeaky noise at idle. Pretty hard to detect from underneath. I saw a black line inside the bellhousing, it was the aluminum dust mixed with misc. oil residue that made the black line. Caused, I guess, from the crack "working", also causing the squeaky rattle. That time it was cracked about 2/3 the way around. I put a wood block under the converter and used a pry bar between the block and the trans body..... then I saw the crack. Someone must have taught me that seeing daylight through the bellhousing is not a good sign. :icon_razz: :icon_wink:

i would check the torque converter bolts and the flywheel bolts to the crank i have seen this more than once i have even bought cars from people who thought the motor had a knock and ended up being a busted flywheel

Check out the Torque converter bolts and maybe the U-joints. Is it a clunk or clink, LOL, really its hard to diagnose noise issues on the web. All we can do is suggest possible causes from experiences we've had. Good Luck! :icon_wave:

Stock transmission mount will not hold up with much HP. If the mount breaks the bellhousing will be next. Get under the truck and push on the side of the tranny with your foot and see if it moves. Either way get a poly mount if you have not done so already. I speak from experience.........

Glad to hear you found it. I keep 2 in my travel box for my roundy round. The stock mount brakes all the time.
