i have a 92 model 1 piece rear seal 350 that i bored out and cammed and i have had it in my 83 short wide silverado for bout a year and thinking about putting it in my blazer but i came across a set of vortech heads off a 98 z-71, ive been using the stock centerbolt heads that came on the 350 with no problem the 350 is .030 over with a 515 lift cam 300 duration lunati cam. and 1.6 rockers but i thought since it was out i could put the vortech since i have a performer rpm vortech head manifold. so question is i have heard vortech heads flow and perform like aluminum so should i put them on or not

if you have them. and an intake then sure throw them on. you will benifit more with the vortecs over the the crap smog heads you run now.

98 vortec heads are far superior to 92 EFI heads for power. Of course you are aware the intakes are not compatible, so as long as you have a VORTEC intake why not? I'm sure you know, but remember the '87-up EFI heads have canted center bolt holes and the rest are normal old shcool intake bolts. The vortec runs only 8 intake bolts, all straight down.

Yeah, usually the deal breaker for people wanting vortec heads is that they have to buy a new intake. If you've already got an intake, I'd say its worth it to throw them on.

I dont know if the stock springs will handle 515 lift with 1.6's on them, atleast not without some issues, correct?

1.94 intake 1.50 exhaust
The vortecs are far superior to any other head bone stock.
