what color should it be??

well its 10pm and i cant sleep the site is the only friend i can ask
im painting most of my truck this weekend and am stuck on the grill cant decide what to do
in the pic i painted the whole thing flat black the way it will stay.but the honeycomb i painted primer red along with the emblem. i dont know wether i like it or not the only other thing i can think is to paint the center like a flat aluminium.the inside of the bed and the firewall will be the primer red. i have no other thoughts. i got the engine compartment done i just gotta put my new air cleaner on and wire and fuel it and do some pinstriping. let me know what you guys think ill move on to the next piece

The grill actually looks good. Bugs & stuff will mess up the red oxide primer. Might I suggest some dullcote clear to make it last longer? Just a thought. Engine is looking good. Going for a primer "rat rod" look or what? Keep up the good work.

I think it looks good. I also like when the grille is painted body color w/ the bow-tie painted a bright brilliant reflective color.

i would do all the grill black,i like the look your going for and love the valve covers.I also like the t buckets

nice looking truck. i like the rat rod look, try it flat black like the rest of the truck and if you don't like it i think you can remove just the grille and put color to it later.very cool air scoop.

yeah it should be a cool scoop for what i paid ebay look for "cal custom scoop" vintage baby.
the valve covers are originals from when they first came out in the 60's the "edlebrock" is parralel were the new ones the name is arched. i love ebay
i think ill go with the black and do a fog of black over the red just to darken it a little make it look like i missed a spot or something
the whole truck is gettin painted with the cheapest rattle cans from oreillys so ill expeiement a little and like hatfield said i can pull and repaint it later. im gonna leave the emblem and do a black pinstripe on it or something i'll be laying in bed one night and it will come to me. ive got two hoods and im thinkin of butchering one cut a hole in it for the scoop or something crazy.ill endup covering the whole thing with a sharpe worth of ideas.we will see what santa brings me overnight

well got the grill done im pleased with it. i just fogged some flat over the red primer looks good in person.go the front clip all back on now gotta wait for the grill to dry before i put it on hopefully ill get the bed done tommorow and have some more pics

well got the bed on by my self yay me...ow! i took a break for the first pic
hopefully get it painted and done thursday night. thing looks goofy as snot with those stupid 14s on there im gonna stick the ralleyes back on before i start craving
hydros,tequilla,and shagrug on everything.
next is the interior im "gently" removing my dash with a 5pd hammer sorry in advance didint know anybody was wanting parts .
once i get the dash framework done ill install the wiring harness and let her run hopefully in time for the first test and tune at the local track.
anybody know pacemakers in mtvernon ohio? 1/8th mile track

Holy Sh(! is that Daytons? Just kidding. LOL! Man next time you gotta take the bed off, you were so close to gettin it. Take the cherry picker around back, take 2 ratchet straps corner to corner and use a short chain. Lift from where the straps cross. Found out the same way when I needed to change a fuel pump on the last dime I owned.
The rat rod look it coming together nicely. (5 lb hammer/dash remover) Gotta love it.

well i was goin for a mega shifter seeing as i got one for free but then i saw the 30" long lokar shifters and changed my mind. im working in a family friends garage and the old farmall is still used every winter to plow snow and pull logs for firewood[i think its a farmall?] sad to say after the ladys husband died the farm is to much for her and shes probly selling this summer so i gotta get this thing together asap.
