I need help identifing this trans. I got for free. It was behind a 305 SBC. I think its a TH350 from the shape of the pan, and a lockup converter from the electrical plug on the pass side (looks like a pressure switch). It has C2 across the top. Other than that, I'm not sure what it is. I have photos in my gallery.

Althought the pictures are clear, they don't show the whole bell or the whole tranny. From what I see my best guess is that it Looks simialer to a BOP bell. If the pan shape looks like a th350 and its a lockup unit its probably a th350c. I am thinking it could be a AMC unit because of the roundness between the top flanges.
AMC or BOP ??? A better pic or 2 and maybe someone else will chime in with a better answer.

Like Space said - Take a picture of the bellhousing from the front showing all the bolt holes, a picture of the whole tranny from the side, and a picture of the pan would be helpful also.
Some 350c trannies had a dual bolt pattern for early 80's trucks with the diesel motors. Another possibility.

Check out this NastyZ28 website..... I think TCI has a similar "pan configuration" chart.......

Thanks for the replies and for the Link to my gallery. I have added a few more pics. I'm also guessing its a 350c, but from what I've read to electrical hookup is on the driver's side. I'll do more web searches.

The tranny is a UNI-bell TH350. It appears that it is drilled for the chevy motor. If it were a lock up tranny, the lock up plug would be on the other side of the tranny. The connector on the pass side isn't lock up. Maybe trans-brake? Maybe line-lock?

interesting looking maybe swing it by a trans shop and see what they say.find out for sure before you use it.especially the converter could really be wrong for your setup

Here's my guess: Possibly a 350C, definately some sort of a 350 configuration. Looks like a BOP case with just the chevy pattern. This is an odd case as if you didn't already know. I think the plug on the pass side is some sort of line pressure sensor. It will only allow the clutch to lock up when in 3rd gear. Probably uses manifold vaccum signal to disengage the lock up. I thought maybe from a GM truck, but it has a short tail shaft. So, maybe from mid 70's to early 80's wagon or maybe a G-body GM car. I saw a few early 80's Grand Prix Pontiacs and Cutlass Olds cars with some strange combinations in my day. The pattern on the case may cause some interference with a S10 tunnel if you don't trim off the extra bolt hole lugs.
A fact for ya: a TH350 and a TH350C have different splines on the input shaft. The converters will not interchange. May be able to use this fact to determine what you have.
