So I was looking at some vids on youtube and noticed more than one s10 with the fuel cell located all the way against the tailgate rather than between the wheel wells. mine is located between the wells. I don't know if it makes that much of a difference but I am wondering if I should move mine all the way back . I think its an 8 gallon cell and my battery and box are as far back on the passenger side as I can get them.

907 I have been told that the farther back it is the better the weight transfer is. thats what a buddy of my told me,

my two cents.

think of a see saw more weight further back easier to lift other side. i have mine just in front of the rear suport bar. that gives me a few inchs if some one rear ends me.

it is said farther back is better but i wouldnt go moving it if you already have it plumbed in 8 gallons of gas in a plastic cell isnt going to make that much difference moving it a foot back

It can be used in several aps, mine is used for weight distrubution to offset my weight and my batterys are also used in same matter depends on what your doing really helps in keeping truck level so it dos'nt pull to the side.

If your going to be racing it and not using it on the street I would say the farthest back the rules will allow. in other words, if you can put it agaisnt the tailgate then I would. If the truck is primairly street than I would place it closer to the center of the wheel wells. - Just in case the truck gets hit in the back.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the info guys. My truck is going to be used primarily for the street, so I guess Ill leave the fuel cell where it sits.
