Hello. I am new to the forum, but I have heard good things about it. I am using an S10 frame to build a 41 Willys coupe. I need motor mounts for the Gen IV BBC I plan to use, and would appreciate any help on where I can locate them. Thanks.

Welcome to the site. Glad people are talking good about us!!!
If the LS motor mounts will work they are in the Parts Store here on the site. If they won't work, then chances are you'll have to make them yourself.
I haven't done a BBC but several sbc's. There are a few on here that have doen them. Someone else will chime in and give you some better direction.

Welcome to site and I found it easier to make mounts, as it will depend how far you want motor set back and how high it will sit for oil pan being used. I used a mock up block with pan on it. 3/8" flat bar and pipe large enough for bolts to go through, you can check out store here or ebay

Welcome.
There may be some confusion as to what you're looking for... because you started your post in the LS Engine forum, easy to make that error.... and even more confusing because you mentioned Gen IV..... which can also mean LSx engines...

So, you want to put in a REAL BBC in a S10 chassis, Not an LSx 454 small block, right?

If so, I think you can use the SBC mounts available here. But first, have to have the 2.8 towers/motor mounts. Or, like Wild572 mentioned, chances are you'll want that motor set back some, so as he said, you'll have to cobble up your own..... and FURTHER, if this is gonna be a serious racer, you may be looking into a front and / or rear motor plate setup. If a street cruiser, I'd want some rubber in there.

maybe other BBC guys will check it, and have more first hand information.

But hey, sounds like a nice project!

I have done a big block convertion,it was a friends truck then i ended up buying it and resold.anway we used the regular v8 convertion mounts welded to the frame then.the rubber factory mounts bolted to the engine block. along with a torque chain just for fun.I will see if i still have any pics and post them.the convertion was alot easier than it sounds big thing was the exhaust and steering shaft.which with the different body you might be better off. if i am correct the measurments of the big block and small block "at the mounts" basicly the same big block just gets wider and taller

Just seen a big block my buddy put into a '40 Hudson coupe. Very similar body. He sat the motor back 8" for it to fit under the hood right. The other guys here are right. You'll have to do some minor fab work. Depends on motor position in the frame compared to how the body actually sits on the frame. Mount the body & then do a lot of measuring. The "dummy" block/transmission thing works very good for a swap like this. Put some pics on here for us to see.Good luck!

Thanks all for the good information, and I am building it primarily for the street. It will make visits to the track occasionally, but I guess I am getting to old to want to be at the track all of the time like I used to. I will definitely post some pics soon, and I will let everyone know what I finally dofor motor mounts. Motor plates are an option, something like one of the early Corvettes had with rubbeer vibration dampers on the frame/mount contact points. Well, Happy New Year one and all, and thanks again!

Hey Scotty S15, I meant to get back to you sooner. thanks for the information, and yes, I do mean the LS6 BBC, GenIV, Mark IV. Chevrolets are primarily what I have always raced and rodded, although anything with alcohol or fuel we always ran Keith Black Chryslers. I put my question in the "LS1, LS6 Gen III and Gen IV Forum For The LS Engines in the S10" forum because of the LS6 I saw there. Perhaps I do need to pose that question in the Engines forum as well. Anyhow, thanks again and I will put some pics oniline as soon as I have some worth looking at. Have a blessed day.
